Joyce Szymborski of Southampton, PA, formerly of Ivyland and Rhawnhurst, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026 at the age of 87. Joyce was born in Philadelphia to William and Alice Brous.

Joyce was very active in her church. First at Tabernacle United Methodist Church where she was involved with the youth group and bell choir and affectionately called “Mrs. B”. After her marriage to George, she became involved with Redemption Lutheran Church in Rhawnhurst until they moved to Ivyland, where they became members of St. John’s United Methodist Church.

Joyce was actively involved in her children’s lives. She was a member of the PTA, supported them in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and volunteered at or attended all their school and outside activities. Joyce worked at Rhawnhurst Elementary, Northeast High School and most recently at George Washington High School as the CFO. She enjoyed chaperoning school events and both local and international trips to support various student activities.

Upon her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She and George were able to spend many years traveling and especially loved their trips to Florida to see the Phillies spring training.

Joyce was the beloved wife of George, loving mother to Leroy Blimegger (Jeanie) and Debra Torrissi (Robert), caring Nan to Grayson, Christina and Kaitlyn. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, and sister, Doris Felton.

In lieu of flowers, kindly send donations to St. John’s United Methodist Church in Ivyland or the American Diabetes Association. 

Friends and family are welcome to join us on Monday June 22nd at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel located at 333 W. County Line Road from 11:00am-12:00pm with a funeral service to follow. Burial will be immediately after at Sunset Memorial Park located on property.
