Obituary of Juan Ibanez
Juan Jose Ibanez, 67, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away at his home on February 13, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving wife, son and daughter. Juan is survived by his wife, Maria, Son Juan Jose Ibanez, II, daughter Dr. Maria Teresa Ibanez de Sulpizio, and son-in-law James A. Sulpizio. He had 3 beautiful grandchildren, Mateo, Lucas and Annabella Sulpizio-Ibanez who adored him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Juan was born in Spain on February 22, 1945. He served in the Spanish Navy for 6 years before he embarked on his journey to the United States where he worked as a mechanical engineer. He later becase established as an entrepreneur in the resturant and nighclub business.
Juan was married to Maria and they lived a happy life together for 37 years. They traveled throughout the United States, Europe and South America. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, baseball and football games, soccer and was an avid reader. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Cancer Association National Headquarters, 1301 Pennsylvanis Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004. The family of Juan Jose Ibanez wishes to thank Juan's oncologist Dr. Emmanuel Quien of Temple University, the VNA Hospice of Philadelphia, and all those who helped care for Juan throughout his fight against cancer.
