Obituary

JUSTINE M. TRIBBLE was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 17, 1932. She was the second of three girls born to the late Virginia and Gus Mills. Her older sister, Marigene Mills preceded her in death. Justine was married to the late Alfred Tremont Tribble. At the time of his death on January 27, 2019, they had been married for more than 65 years.

Justine departed this life August 16, 2022. She received her elementary and high school education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Simon Gratz High School, Justine's many interests included poetry and music. Upon graduation, Justine sought higher education and specialization in the nursing profession. Having a passion for children, Justine cared for infants and toddlers. Justine sharpened her skills while employed at Pennsylvania Hospital and Eastern State School and Hospital.

Justine studied for hundreds of hours and earned distinction with the National Institute of Mental Health for her prowess in learning, instructing, and caring for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. Justine often said, she treated the children on her job as if they were her own children. Justine's union with the late Alfred Tribble produced three successful adults.

Justine relocated from Philadelphia to Bensalem for her family. Always a caring and giving person, Justine sought the best educational opportunities for her children. Justine worked at night and often finished her shift only to drive into Philadelphia to care for her aging parents and other family members. Justine also cared for the Bensalem community. She was active in the civic association and successfully fought to elevate the standards of businesses relocating to the neighborhood.

Justine fought to improve curb appeal and property values of the entire neighborhood. Justine had theatre and music in her DNA. She delighted audiences at the Manna Bible Institute with her piano solos. Her music warmed hearts and also raised money for student scholarships. The Black History Programs Justine arranged at Ann's Choice reached a diverse audience and unified the community. Her inclusion of people, poetry, educational notes, and classical music delighted audiences. The performances were enjoyed by hundreds of residents, visitors, and also raised money for student scholarships and benevolent causes.

Justine leaves to cherish in memory her sister, Florence Lawrence, sons, Jason and Al Jr., daughter, Sharon Cooper, one grandson Joseph Cooper, daughter-in-laws, Jennifer and Claudette Tribble, one granddaughter, Alexis Young, grandson-in-law, Josh Young, one great granddaughter, Olivia Young, nieces, Diane Hayes and Arlene Gwen, nephew, Leonard Lawrence, nephew-in-laws, Charles Hayes and Larry Gwen, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
