Obituary of Leroy Eckbold
Leroy G. Eckbold, a longtime resident of Bristol, passed away January 16, 2014 at Chandler Hall Hospice. He was 89. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and yard work. He served as a Sgt. In the USMC during WWII and participated in the capture and occupation of Okinawa. The faithful husband for 57 years to the late Claire (nee Sickler), he is survived by his daughter Claire Bauer (Edward), granddaughters; Sarah Ackerman, Rebecca Egan (Jim), Rachel Walter, (Mark) and Gywn Harvey, 11great-grandchildren; Brittany, Leo, Tyler E., Tyler H., Teagan, Emma, Kaleigh, Ryan, McCoy, Lily and Isabella, a brother Jean Eckbold (Judy) and nephews; Kent Eckbold (Michelle) and Mark Eckbold (Cindy). He was preceded in death by a son Lee Eckbold. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday January 23 from 10am at the Emilie UM Church 7300 New Falls Rd. Levittown, PA 19055 where a memorial service will be held at 11am.Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 1621 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19103
