Lillian M. Smith (Davies) left this world as she wished, at peace and in her sleep, on February 28, 2017, at Park Creek Place, North Wales, PA after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Philadelphia on July 3, 1921, to B. Raymond Davies and Lillian Mae Davies.

Lillian is survived by her two daughters Joa Ginsburg (Edward Gordan) of Bellows Falls, Vermont and Patricia Grace (Frederick) of Hatboro, PA. Among her other survivors are three grandchildren Sabrina Dalton of Perkasie, Dominic Castelli (Erin) of Wilmington DE, and Django Broomfield (Shara) of Santa Rosa, CA, and five great-grandchildren Seamus, Ember, Mia, Gianna, and Alana. Also surviving her are a sister Barbara Davies Noel and her brother George Davies. Preceding her in death were her devoted husband Eugene "Bud" Smith and brothers Raymond, Herbert, James, and William.

During World War II, Lillian worked at Brewster's Aeronautical at the Johnsville Naval Air Station, supporting the war effort as one of the many "Rosie Riveters" around the nation. At the start of the war, she met and married Eugene F. "Bud" Smith. During that time raised two daughters, Joanne and Patricia, while residing in Hatboro. Lillian was a woman ahead of her time by balancing the raising of her two girls while working as a book-keeper at Flexible Circuits, from where she retired in 1986. After mourning the loss of Bud in 1984, Lillian met Don Knight. Lillian and Don spent almost 30 years as adoring companions in life.

Lillian was a resident of Hatboro for 67 years. While residing in Hatboro, she was always active in the community and involved with several civic organizations including the Crooked Billet Women's Club, Women's Board of the Hatboro YMCA, Bux-Mont Meals on Wheels, and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Council of the Navy League.Also, Lillian was a faithful member of the congregation of the Hatboro Baptist Church for 68 years

Lillian was an avid traveler and visited over 30 countries around the world, including extensive travels throughout Europe, as well as trips to Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean Islands. Later in life, Lillian was always out and about, traveling across the United Staes with the various social organizations that she belonged to.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, March 17 at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, Feasterville, PA from 10:30AM - 11:30AM. A memorial service will begin at 11:30AM at the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent in Lillian's name to Abramson Hospice, 1425 Horsham Road #2, North Wales, PA 19454, would be appreciated.
