MECUTCHEN, Lois R. of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 86.

Lois Mecutchen (nee Carpenter) was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene S. Mecutchen, her son, Drew S. Mecutchen, her  parents, Harry and Ida May (nee Ross) Carpenter, her sisters, Grace (Harold "Bud") Coffman and Claire (John "Jack") Reeves, and her brother, Harry Carpenter, Jr.

She was the loving mother to Keith E. (Janet), Perry (Christine), and Wendy (Scott), as well as her daughter-in-law, Linda, and her "adoptive son-in-law," Rich.  She was the devoted grandmother to Amanda, Myles, Tyler, Keith M. (Meghan), and Louis (Jennifer), step-grandmother to Chase and Dakota, and great-grandmom to Bodie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lois loved her family above all else, and was happiest when spending time with them. Her warm personality and beautiful smile welcomed friends into her family. She was a woman of compassion and deep faith, who was very involved in the church throughout her life at East Baptist Church and Third Reformed Presbyterian Church. Singing in the church choir and volunteering gave her great joy.  Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lois on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., with inurnment immediately following at same location.
