IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret E.
Mclaughlin
September 9, 1938 – May 2, 2020
Margaret Elva (Blum) McLaughlin, passed away on May 2, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born in
Philadelphia on September 9, 1938 to the late Henry L. and Elva M. (Jones) Blum. Margaret was
preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas G. McLaughlin, her brother Henry (Bud) Blum, and her
eldest daughter Linda B. McLaughlin who she tenderly cared for throughout the years.
She will be greatly missed by her remaining children Dianne A. McLaughlin, Elva M. DeGeorge (Charles),
and Patrick McLaughlin (Lynn); her grandchildren Nicole Smith, Samantha Gallen, Shane Williams,
Charles DeGeorge, Shannon, Harold and Karl McLaughlin; her great grandchildren Miranda and Brylee
Williams; as well as her dear friend, Roberta Brunner.
Margaret embodied the word peace with her love of wild flowers, nature, jewelry and stained-glass
design. Her family and close church friends were most important to her. She welcomed everyone into
her home with food and conversations of hope. Margaret thoroughly enjoyed her time up the
mountains and down the shore with close friends and family. She felt blessed to have been married to
her one true love.
Margaret also had a beautiful voice. One that could be heard singing along with music as well as
speaking words of compassion to advocate for women's rights, the environment, and anyone in need.
She was a force of life and spirit who provided us with beautiful memories and continues to inspire all
who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Judith Heffernan officiating. Inurnment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
