Margaret R. Neebe, age 103, of Doylestown, PA, died on arch 31, 2017, comfortably in hospice. She was born on October 3, 1913 in Philadelphia, Pa. During Margaret's lifetime, the country experienced two world wars, a depression, the emergence of electricity, the beginning of automotive and airplane travel, and the introduction of television. Discoveries included both penicillin and a vaccine against polio. Men walked on the moon and the digital age was born. Margaret was one of eight children, and spent a good portion of her childhood in the Frankford area of Philadelphia. During World War II, she worked for Atlas Precision Products Company. At age 19, she married Conrad Neebe at St. Marks in 1932. In those days, nobody spent time and money on a honeymoon. The extent of their celebration was to enjoy a movie at the Circle Theater. In 1933, their son, Conrad was born at home with the assistance of a neighbor. Neebe notes that soon after birth, the family doctor came to the house to check on them .Neebe learned to drive around age 40 and said her first car was a brand new 1960 Ford, adding that she decided it was time to finally give up being behind the wheel, when she was 98.. Today, Margaret 's family has grown to include two grandchildren, four great - grandchildren, and another 5 great - great grandchildren. Asked about what she would change when looking back, she said " It was all good... well, good and bad for that time because you really don't know any different."
