Margaret Carvalho  Tinari
February 9, 1928 - January 14, 2023
The angels have taken the hand of Margaret Carvalho Tinari and led her to the comfort and peace of our Lord's arms on Saturday, January 14, 2023. She was 94.
She was born and raised in Hawaii and met her late-husband Nicholas Tinari while he was stationed at Schofield Army Base in Honolulu. They were married in Honolulu in June of 1944. When Nick died in 2001, they had been married 57 years.
Over those many years, they experienced the bombing of Pearl Harbor, a tidal wave in Hilo in 1946, and even a train crash when they were moving to Pennsylvania.
They both volunteered with the Willow Grove Second Alarmers and were active in the American Legion. They owned several businesses - Tinari Garden Supply in the 1950s, and then Tinari Paving Contractors.
Margaret was a homemaker and an excellent cook - everyone loved her spaghetti and meatballs, scalloped potatoes in that yellow pyrex bowl, pasteles, and pizzelles. She was talented in many crafts like sewing, ceramics and crochet. She enjoyed word-find puzzle books, playing Bingo for quarters, and loved gospel and country music, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Her love of family has made many cherished memories. Our fondest memories are of big family dinners, holiday celebrations and Tinari Family Reunions. Over the years, they enjoyed traveling the country, visits back to Hawaii, a cherished family trip to Italy, many Sunday drives, visiting her friend Betty's Mexican restaurant, and listening to Mariachi bands.
She was heartbroken by the loss of her husband Nick, daughter Dieanna Ball and Dieanna's children Pattie Shalley, Memory Hill and Victor Ball, her granddaughter Christina Marie Gold Haasch, and great-grandson Blaine Hill.
She will be greatly missed by her family, their spouses, her extended family in Hawaii, and her friends.
She was dearly loved by her children Richard Carvalho and his wife Pauline, the late Dieanna Ball, Paulette Gold, Eileen Kirban and her husband Dennis, Nickolette Haines and her husband Bill, Nick Tinari Jr., Bill Tinari and his wife Tina, and Elizabeth (Liddy) Lanning and her late-husband Bob.
She was blessed with a total of 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Their many descendants have made the world a better place.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, January 21st at 10 am with a Celebration of her life Memorial Service at 11 am at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Road, Feasterville, PA.
Internment immediately to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
