Maria C. Wingeron of Feasterville, PA, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2021, surrounded by her immediate family, after a long battle with metastatic melanoma.
She was 83 years old, born on October 1, 1937 in Heidelberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Bernhard and Katharina (Hoch) Koster, and the beloved wife of the late Frank Wingeron, who passed away in April 2008. She is preceded in death by, sister Elizabeth (Liesel) Koster, brother Heinz Koster, brother-in-law John Jr Wingeron and Nickolaus Wingeron, and nephew Peter Wingeron.
Maria is survived by her brother Hans Koster and wife Gudrun, Sister Paula Engelhardt in Germany. Loving Mom to daughters Karin (Wingeron) and husband William Catalano, and Susan Wingeron (and partner Beatrice Benoit and children Margaux and Nolan). Maria was a loving and wonderful mom-mom to Michael (Katie) Catalano, and Diana (John) Blystone and loving great mom-mom to Johnny, Alyssa, Leah, and Mikey. Maria is also survived by sister-in-law Barbara Wingeron and her nephews John Wingeron and wife Andrea, Nick Wingeron and wife Amber and David Wingeron and daughter Jordan.
A resident of Feasterville for 55 years, she spent her working life as a waitress and factory worker. When not working she enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo at the senior center and spending time with her friends attending activities at the local German clubs. She loved traveling, gardening, and adored spending time with her family, and relaxing at the beach in Sea Isle. She loved her Phillies, Eagles and Sixers and rarely missed a game.
Maria was a wonderful, caring, selfless, mom, mom-mom, great mom-mom, Aunt, and friend to many. She had the ability to light up a room with her smile, laughter, and presence. She loved having fun and was a very caring and sweet person and will be remembered for her strength and perseverance in fighting melanoma for 4+ years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and pray she is rejoined with her loved ones who have passed before her.
A funeral service will be at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel on Monday, April 26, 2021 (which is limited to 50 attendees), at 11:00 AM with Rev. Gwendolyn King officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, followed by a private family reception. A viewing will be held Monday morning from 10 AM at the funeral home.
