Marlene Anne Bloomer of Altoona, FL passed away December 17, 2024. She was born January 18,1936 to Ethel and Hugh Dalrymple. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Philadelphia, PA class of 1954. In 1955, Marlene married her childhood neighbor and high school sweetheart, Jack, celebrating 70 years of marriage. She earned her Associates Degree from Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and her Bachelor's Degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. As a Registered Nurse, she worked many years at Humana Hospital Cypress in Margate, FL. After moving back to Pennsylvania, she worked in home nursing and hospice. Following retirement, she relocated to Leesburg, FL where she pursued her lifetime hobby and interest in dancing. Marlene taught tap dancing and clogging for the residents of the Highland Lakes Community in Leesburg. She choreographed and directed or assisted in directing the annual residents' show. She later moved to Ringgold, GA to be close to her children and grandchildren. Marlene was predeceased by her oldest son - John, and her sisters - Evelyn Morrison and Ethel Davis. She is survived by her husband - Jack, children – Bob, Donna, and Ellen, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Rd., Huntingdon Valley at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Her viewing will be held from 9:30 AM on Friday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or The Dementia Society of America.
