Obituary of Martha Mills

Martha Arnold Mills, of Warminster and formerly of Huntingdon Valley, passed away on February 1, 2012. She was 85

She was born in Saltsburg, Pa to the late Carl and Mary (nee Kahney) Arnold.

Martha was the beloved wife of Donald F. Mills for the past 53 years.

Martha graduated from Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA, in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in Math and the goal of being a teacher. After graduation, she taught in France for several years. Martha moved back to the US where she was a teacher for 40 years and taught in various locations in New York and Pennsylvania including a substitute teacher in Lower Moreland School District and Centennial School District. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and seeing the world. Her love for travel led her to be a travel agent for several years. Martha had a love for history and was a tour guide at Clivden House in Germantown, PA and Pennsbury Manor in Morrisville, PA where she played the role of "Betsy Ross" during her tours. She was a volunteer for CONTACT of Bucks County for over 10 years. Martha was also an avid bridge player and loved to teach and play cards with her grandchildren. Martha and Don were avid Penn State football fans having season tickets for over 35 years and going up to State College for home games up until a few years ago.



She is survived by her loving husband, Donald and their three children: Paul A. (Donna), David W. (Karen) and Mary M. Stranix (Mark) and six grandchildren: Andrew, Mary Kate, Michelle, Danny, Julia and Michael all of who were very special to her.

Relatives and friends may gather on February 6, 2012 from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Road, Feasterville, PA (on the grounds of Sunset Memorial Park) where a Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 pm. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Martha's memory to the charity of one's choice.
