Mary Jean Gottscalk (Thomas) was born on April 14, 1928, in Trevose, PA to Chester and Irene Thomas. She was the sister to Chester, Beatrice, Blanche, and Horace. She grew up on a dairy farm and was proud to be the milkman's daughter. Mary passed away in her home in Pottstown, PA on January 18, 2026. She was 97 years old.

Mary is the mother of 5 children, Florence Boyer (late Russ), the late George Gottschalk, the late Irene Baker (Jim), John Gottschalk (Sharon), and Darryl Gottschalk (Linda).

She is the grandmother to 10 grandchildren, Russ Jr, Angela (Jeff), Dodi, Cherie, Rob (Brigette), James Jr., Lauren, David, Kyre and Laura (Kevin).
Proud Great Grandmother to 8, Ashlynn (Dennis), Dustin, Shayne (RJ), Alyssa, Isabella, Landon, Addison, and Jack; and great-great grandmother to Charlotte and Madilyn; aunt to several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law to Maxine Thomas.

Mary is predeceased by her ex-husband, Earl Gottschalk, her sisters, brothers, daughter Irene, son George, sons-in-law, Russ, and Jim, and her beloved cats, Nemo, Benji, and Misty.

A memorial service for Mary will be held on Saturday, February 14, 4 PM at Lansdale SDA Church 887 Troxel Rd Lansdale Pa, 19446.
