Obituary

Marylou Hamilton Leitch, 84, died on April 21, 2022, in Danvers, Massachusetts, after a brief illness.  Born on June 5, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Joseph Hamilton and Selena (Crawford) Hamilton, and the sister of Maureen, Joseph, and Robert, all of whom predeceased her.

Marylou was happily married for nearly 50 years to Graham Leitch, until his death in 2006.  She is survived by their children Suzanne Crossman (Dan), of Gloucester, Massachusetts; David Leitch (Ellen), of Charlotte, NC; and Bruce Leitch (Deborah), of Wilmington, NC, as well as grandchildren Matthew (Chelsea), Andrew, Allison, Justin (Bailey), Jared (Rebecca), Jordan (Macey), Joshua (Kaylie), and Jacob Leitch, and Brennen and Gillian Crossman, all of whom brought her great joy — and whose birthdays she never forgot.  She was also the proud great grandmother of Justin and Bailey's son Samuel Leitch.

Marylou and Graham raised their children in Wallingford, Pennsylvania and were longtime members of Grace Bible Fellowship Church, also in Wallingford, where Marylou was church secretary for many years.  They traveled widely with family throughout the United States, but always returned to their favorite place — Ocean City, New Jersey, where they got engaged and spent many happy days on the beach and boardwalk with children, grandchildren, other family (especially Russ and Ruth Ward and their daughters Beth and Suzann), and friends.

Marylou also resided after Graham's death in West Chester, PA; Glen Mills, PA; Wilmington, NC; and Ipswich, MA.

The family will hold a brief graveside ceremony at Sunset Memorial Park in Huntington Valley, PA at 2 pm on April 30, 2022.  A memorial service will be observed at 5 pm the same day at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 723 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA.  A reception at the church will follow.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Center Church of Charlottesville, Virginia, where Marylou's grandson Justin is Executive Pastor.

Arrangements in Pennsylvania are being handled by Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel.
