IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael A.
Luppino
December 8, 1919 – December 28, 2020
Michael A. Luppino, age 101, the oldest living WWII veteran of Montgomery County, PA, and resident of Walnut Meadows, Harleysville at the time of his passing in the presence of his beloved family died Monday, December 28, 2020. Born in Pottsville, PA, December 8, 1919, to Mary DiCello and Vincent Luppino, the third of seven children, leaves this world with a piece of each of his four children's hearts; Marie Tymczyszyn (Roman), Anthony Luppino, Loretta Smollinger (Glenn), Vincent Luppino (Denise). He will be sadly missed by his eight grandchildren, one great-grandson along with extended family and friends. Michael was predeceased by his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Catherine Julian Luppino with whom he spent forty-two years of a blessed and loving marriage. After Catherine's passing, he returned to Pottsville to spend time with his remaining siblings. In Pottsville, Michael renewed many old friendships, one of which would make a new mark in his life. He became the kind and loving companion and then the second husband to the former Amelia Morris Stagliano and enjoyed her extended family, son Richard, daughter-in-law Pollyanne and their three children and grandchildren. Throughout, Michael was proud and committed to his family, his vocation, and to the many fraternal organizations he belonged to, too many to list during 101 years. His family spoke mostly of his Army Air Corp days which boasts of his patriotic dedication to his country. Michael was an Honorary Life Member Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus - a perfect example of loyalty and humility to his Catholic Faith. A graveside service will take place at St Joseph's Cemetery, Hillside Drive, Pottsville, PA 19446. At the request of the family, the graveside service will be private. Please consider donations in Michael's memory to the Corpus Christi Church or the Father John Doyle Council 9715, Knights of Columbus.
