Obituary

Randy Schmalstich, age 71 of Warminster, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 10, 2026 in Abington Lansdale Hospital.

Randy was born in Union, New Jersey to the late Paul and Elinor (nee: Paetzold) Schmalstich on May 27, 1954. He grew up in Union, New Jersey and was a 1972 graduate of Union High School. From a young age, Randy was known for his strong work ethic, beginning his first job at only 12 years old selling pretzels at Two Guys department store. Over the years, he worked many jobs including busboy, short-order cook, and pumping gas before proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. He later worked for Sun Printing and dedicated 30 years of service to the United States Postal Service before retiring.

Randy enjoyed cooking and grilling for family and friends, riding motorcycles in his younger years, relaxing in his backyard pool, listening to country music, cheering on his beloved Minnesota Vikings, and watching The Three Stooges. He loved entertaining, trying new recipes, talking with everyone he met, and spending time outside on a beautiful day with a cold drink, his wife Kathleen, and his beloved dog Buster by his side.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kathleen Schmalstich; his children, Sarah Cadenas, William Bell, and Katie Gildein; his cherished grandchildren, Victoria Canfield and Parker Cadenas; his sister, Lynne Riodan; along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish the laughter, memories, and love he brought into their lives.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel from 11 AM to noon on Monday, May 18, 2026. A funeral service will be held at noon; Pastor Sandra Brown will be officiating.

Randy will be laid to rest privately at the convenience of the family.
