Obituary of Raymond Townsend

Raymond Clark (Ray) Townsend, 85, of Southampton, PA, passed away on March 7, 2015.

Visitation will be held at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel at 333 County Line Road, Feasterville on March 12, 2015 from 10 to 11 AM followed by services at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley. Relatives and friends are invited afterwards to the home of Barbara Terrell, 1465 Churchville Road, Southampton.

Raymond was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Charles Townsend and Florence Wetzel, the youngest of nine children, on December 21, 1929. Raised in the Ogontz neighborhood of Philadelphia, he went on to work for a number of companies and became self-employed with Townsend Appliance Service for 40 years. He enjoyed playing golf, winning numerous tournaments, and enjoyed singing for the troops, touring for the USO all along the East Coast. He was active in the Feasterville Business Association, and the Masonic Fraternity, serving as Worshipful Master in 1984.

Ray is survived by his wife Dorothy Pauline (nee Stuetz), married 65 years; daughters Dorothy Colleen Kahhan (Larry) of Las Vegas, Barbara Ann Terrell of Southampton, and Kimberly Lorraine Pierce of West Chester; and grandchildren Kristy Lynn Terrell and David Clark Terrell.
