SCHILLINGER, Richard, passed away February 11, 2017. He was 84.
A 54 year resident of the Somerton section, he has lived at Southampton Estates for the past 3 years. For almost 35 years, he worked at Kingsbury Inc. in the Northeast Industrial Park in Philadelphia. He loved being a foreman and machinist even though he had a degree as an Industrial Engineer. For the last 22 years, Richard spent as much time as possible at his home on the Chincoteague Bay in Virginia, on his boat and jet skis. He loved when friends and family would visit him at Captains Cove and provided them with many hundreds of blue crabs that he pulled from the bay.
Richard was the son of Albert and Anna Schillinger, both of whom were born in Germany. The beloved husband of Louise (nee Lempp) he is also survived by a son Michael and a dear friend Sandy Armitage, siblings Albert Schillinger (MaryJane) of Arizona, Ann Conant of California and Ralph Schillinger (Carol) of Lancaster, PA. The dear uncle of many nieces and nephews who lived all over the country. His greatest joy was visiting family and friends in California, Arizona, Texas and North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by siblings Fred Schillinger (Frances) of Philadelphia and Margaret Morris of Texas.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday February 16 from 9:30am at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel 333 County Line Rd, Feasterville (215-354-0085), where funeral services will be held at 11am.
