Richard Shepherd, of Langhorne, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022, 96 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet T. Shepherd. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Shepherd, siblings: Johnny, Bill (Mary), Mazie, Ruth, Frank, Bob, Julie and his brother in law, Tom. He is survived by his sister, Florence; 11 nieces and step children: Joseph Dawicki (Deb), Karen Spiker (Rich), Bob Dawicki (Kathy) as well as grandchildren: Kristi (Deb), Rich (Sandee), Jaime (Jay), Joe (Ciara), Rachel (Tyler), Michael and Lauren. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, 9 great-grandchildren.

Rich was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and served on the U.S.S Cabot as a First Class Seaman gunner during WWII. He has traveled all over the world and the country for reunions with his shipmates and other Veterans events. He was often seen in his WWII U.S.S. Cabot hat, his signature item. Rich was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, namely the Phillies and Eagles. He remained active and loved to golf, travel, camp and solve puzzles. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing, during which he met his wife of 15 years, Janet. He will be missed by all who love him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Viewing Thursday October 27, 2022, 12:00pm-2:00pm at Kirk and Nice Funeral Home, 333 W County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. A Prayer Service will commence at 2:00pm. Committal prayers and military honors will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Huntingdon Valley, PA at 2:30pm. Private entombment to immediately follow.
