Obituary of Robert Smith
Robert W. Smith of Barnegat, New Jersey died peacefully, Wednesday January 15, 2014 at HCR ManorCare surrounded by his family. Born on February 13, 1917 to a loving mother and father, Robert (Bob) lived a full, adventurous, and happy life until he departed to a loving God.
He is survived by one sister Marion Tallon and five children; Robert W. Smith, Jr. (Karen) of Barnegat NJ, Susan A Callan (John) of Harrington DE, Geri Russo (Martin) of Phillipsburg NJ, Donna Mannon (Robert) of Fallsington PA,
Ruth Marchie of Easton PA, and Marty Smith of Bordentown NJ, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family of stepchildren and their families.
He was predeceased by his father William A, mother Lena Wigley, five brothers; Earl R, Wilfred G, William E, Richard E, Donald E and eight sisters; Viola R, Dorothy M, Verna F, Evelyn G, Lillian P, Lucille L, Melba R and Jean M, his first born daughter Irma E Dolan, grandson Richard C, and loving wives, Eileen E. Smith and Ida A. Smith.
Bob was a WWII Veteran having proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was a career cross country Truck Driver and retired from the Teamsters Union. He was a former resident of Bristol PA where he lovingly raised his children until moving to the Jersey Shore where he spent the last 30 years enjoying his favorite hobbies of boating and fishing.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 25 in the Chapel at The Kirk & Nice Suburban Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville Pa 19053. Friends and loved ones may gather at 10:00 AM and the service will commence at 11:00 AM in the Chapel.
