Roger Schott, of Doylestown, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2022 aged 94 years. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Alice E. Schott. He is survived by his children: Alain Schott, Ginette Calhoun (Dan), Robin Schott (Mary), Jeffrey Schott (Christina), Remy Schott (Christine). He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and his dear companion of 15 years, Claire Kelly.
Roger was born in Strasbourg-Alsace France. As a youth, Roger valiantly fought with the French Resistant against Nazi Occupation. Roger learned the art of barbering through his step father, and would make a career out of it. Roger proudly retired from Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) after many years of service as a professional soccer referee in the USA and abroad. Roger, along with Alice, worked to assign referees for many youth organizations in Philadelphia. In his later years, Roger helped to develop up and coming referees by assessing their performances on the field.
Roger had many interests besides soccer. He was an avid gardener. He had Koi fish ponds that he built and tended for many years. He had quite a collection of model railroad pieces and enjoyed working on his platforms. He loved to dance and was a very outgoing person.
