Obituary of Roland Hinderliter
Roland Hinderliter, age 97 of Langhorne, passed away Sunday October 25, 2015 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine (Weiss) Hinderliter with whom they shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, Roland was the son of the late Evan and Eva (Brill) Hinderliter. He was a graduate of Frankford High School. After High School, he worked with his dad at the Diston Saw Works until enlisting in the US Army in 1943 where he achieved rank of Staff Sergeant and was Honorably Discharged in 1946.
Roland had been a government employee throughout his working career having been employed by the Frankford Arsenal, the Franklin Mint and Philadelphia Navy Yard where he retired at age 62.
Roland enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting coins and stamps.
Roland is survived by his children: Alan Hinderliter and his wife Linda of Charlotte, NC, Eileen Gallagher and her husband John of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Diane Ross and her husband Corky of Shartlesville, PA. His Grandchildren: Anne and Beth Hinderliter, Vicki Lager and Brian Gallagher, Jill Butler and Bonnie Ross. 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 Brother; Horace Hinderliter and 1 Sister: Ethel Santos.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his visitation on Monday November 2, 2015 from 11 AM and to his Funeral Service at 12 Noon with Pastor Danny Vanhoose, officiating at the Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel 333 County Line Rd., Feasterville (215) 354-0085. Interment with Army Honors in Sunset Memorial Park.
