Obituary

Bonnie Marshall Lazor passed peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020, at 3:00 pm. She meant so much to so many!

Bonnie was born in Wydnor, PA, which was named after her grandfather. She was described in her high school yearbook as, "a vivacious and mischievous girl", character traits that she carried all her life almost to the end. In her youth, she loved horses and rode quite often. She also loved to dance and could still jitterbug with the best of them well into her 80s. She modeled for a brief period with Barbizon and had exciting times in New York.

She married Major William Marshall, Jr., on August 14, 1942, and worked at the Bethlehem Steel Plant while Bill was fighting overseas in WWII. When he returned home, they lived at Split Rock Lodge where Bill was the first ski instructor and Bonnie was an event coordinator and hostess. She was then au pair to the Potts family living with Bill in the carriage house on the Potts Estate while Bill was a salesman for Horace T Potts Steel. They moved to Huntingdon Valley in 1954 and she became a homemaker and mother to daughter, Susan, in 1955 then son Bill in 1962.

The family moved to the Green Ridge, Huntington Valley development in about 1966. Bonnie took a part-time job at the Betty's Shop in Hatboro and found her niche in retail sales of women's better clothing. She was the most requested star saleswoman and customers loved her.

Bonnie married a wonderful man, Stanley Lazor, in 1980, who had five adult children. Stan and Bonnie loved to dance and frequented dance clubs to show off their style. They took many trips across the US and to Europe and just enjoyed life and each other. After Stan's death in 1994, Bonnie spent many months over the years visiting her son, Bill, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer "MaiLy", who served in the United States Foreign Service in different countries throughout the world. She visited Sweden, Israel, Dominican Republic, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Peru, Bermuda, and France.

Bonnie's life was filled with good times, wonderful people and many adventures. She was a Girl Scout leader for at least 12 years and guided her girls through many avenues of life. Bonnie was a wonderful cook and gracious hostess and people simply gravitated toward her.

In her later years, she came to Southampton Estates and enjoyed retired life. She looked forward to having dinner with her lady friends and participated in many trips with groups. She loved going to church every Sunday then having breakfast with daughter Susan and hitting the shops. Bonnie was an Olympic shopper! But, her faith in Jesus was her foundation, joy, and hope. Bonnie was baptized by her son, who is also a pastor, at the age of 91. She loved singing hymns with her friends in church.

Bonnie finally met her last companion and love, Herb Rolland, who was with her till the end.

Bonnie will be sorely missed by daughter Susan Marshall; son William Marshall, III and his wife, Jennifer "MaiLy"; Daughter and son-in-law, Lynn (Lazor) and Edward Davis, Daughter Audrey (Lazor) Santangelo; grandchildren, Monique Marshall, Bret Davis, Celeste Owens, Mark Seigh, Terry Santangelo, Andre' Santangelo, Lynn Lazor Cole. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband Stanley; children Marcia (Lazor) Seigh, Leslie (Lazor) Sundling, and Stanley Mark Lazor; and granddaughter Chelsea Lynn Davis.

She lived a long and colorful life and loved reminiscing and telling tales of her youth and family.

She touched many lives and will be remembered fondly by so many for a long time to come.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 22, 2020 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at Southampton Estates, 238 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966, in their Auditorium.
