Samuel J. Laverty, age 94, of Lansdale, PA., passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Harmony House at Dock Terrace, in Lansdale, PA. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernadette. Mr. Laverty is survived by his sons, James Laverty ( Mary ), Wayne Laverty ( Jane ) and Timothy Laverty ( Debra ); and his grandchildren : Shawn, Patrick, Kyle, Keri, Richard, Brian, Jennifer, Nicole and Christopher. Mr. Laverty served in the U.S. Army Air Corps ,  571st Bomb Squadron during WW II,with the rank of Staff Sergeant, and participated in campaigns over the Rhineland, the Ardennes and central Europe . He received the Air Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters, and the EAME Service Medal with 3 bronze stars . A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 1 pm at the chapel at Dock Woods Community. Interment will be private.
