Obituary

Stanley M. Stakenas, Jr. age 61, passed away on July 26, 2018 following an accelerated medical battle with prostate cancer. He resided in Bristol, Pa and is grieved by his loving mother, Michelina Stakenas, siblings, James Stakenas (Judy Stakenas) and Dymphna Lorica (Dr. Noel Lorica ), their sons and many cousins. He also is survived by daughters, Teresa, Colleen and Maureen and his dear grandchildren. Stan was preceded in death by his father, Stanley M. Stakenas, Sr. and cherished wife Patricia McLaughlin Stakenas.
Stanley was born in Bristol.  His childhood included Boy Scouts where he was a member of St. Ann's Troupe 127 and where his quest for self reliance and attention to details began. At 14, he started to dabble in photography which would carry on more fervently throughout his life. He attend Bristol High and later earned an associates's degree in computer tech applying his trade as a supervisor working with microchips at Lucent Technologies in Allentown.
Because of Stan's love for details, interests became passions. His early love of photography grew to include the technology behind it where he created pin hole cameras to take haunting pictures of simple things. Creating them into works of wonder. He then started delving into artistic paintings and artists. He was especially taken with Leonardo DaVinci and researched his career for many years. He even appeared in roles as DaVinci at local Art Festivals in Allentown to educate children and people about Leonardo's creations. His diverse enthusiasm included cooking to Nobel Prize winners and their speeches, gathering books and books on the subjects.
He had a love for fishing, especially deep sea tuna where he invited his eager nephews, children and friends to join him on trips even on cold days. He collected all types of fishing poles, modern, fly and antique, then would give them to anyone who showed interest. His most recent passion was gardening where he created what everyone referred to as "The Stanley Towers" with recycled wood for his vegetables and herbs which he grew from exotic and heritage seeds.  Again giving the fruits of his labor to his friends and family. That is the type of man he was and he will be missed.
Private services were held at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel. Donations in Stan's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
