Obituary

Stanley Joseph "Pop" Vickers, Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born on October 23, 1942, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Stanley's journey was marked by dedication to family, community, and a lifelong passion for sports.

A proud graduate of Lincoln High School in Philadelphia, Stanley began his professional career as a lineman with Bell of PA. Through hard work and perseverance, he advanced in his field and ultimately retired from AT&T as a PBX Installer. His career reflected not only technical skill but also a steadfast commitment to excellence and service.

Stanley's devotion extended far beyond the workplace. For 45 years, he shared a loving and devoted marriage with Joanne )Albright) Vickers. Their enduring partnership was a cornerstone of his life and a source of strength and joy.

He was a cherished father to Bernadette Vickers Sweeney Kennedy (George), Christine Vickers Pollacco (Michael), Stanley Vickers Jr. (Sonia), Frances Vickers Kamieniecki (James), Steven Vickers (Michelle), Paul McGovern (Liza), and Carol McGovern. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His role as "Pop" was one he embraced with warmth and pride.

Stanley's interests reflected his deep connection to community and tradition. A proud Free Mason of Lodge 751, he found camaraderie and purpose among his fellow Masons. He also dedicated time to coaching the Liberty Bell baseball team, sharing his love for the game with younger generations. An avid supporter of Philadelphia's sports teams, Stanley enjoyed watching games and collecting sports memorabilia—a hobby that brought him great joy and connected him to the rich history of the teams he loved.

Through every chapter of his life, Stanley remained grounded in loyalty—to his family, his city, and the values he held dear. His legacy lives on in those who knew him best and loved him most.

May his memory bring comfort to all who were touched by his presence.
