Theodore "Ted" Frederick Doberstein, 70, of Hatboro, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on February 19, 2020, surrounded by family. Ted was born December 21, 1949 to the late Theodore H. and Joan (Bayer) Doberstein. A 1967 graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA, he earned his BS in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University in 1971. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and received his MBA from LaSalle University in 1984.
Judy (Krumm) Doberstein, Ted's wife and the love of his life, survives. He is also survived by his children, Timothy Doberstein (Karen), Joanna Doberstein, and Abigail Doberstein (Katie Dry), and by his stepchildren, Amy Badey (Brandon) and Mark Johnson. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Thomas Doberstein (Rosemary), ten grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ted was a lifelong cookie aficionado and avid sports fan; he particularly enjoyed all Philadelphia and Penn State sports teams. He was a dedicated Eagles season ticket holder and made frequent trips to Happy Valley for Penn State sporting events. Ted had a passion for exploring other countries and traveling across the world, but he especially loved visiting North Carolina's Outer Banks, where he vacationed for 31 years with family and friends. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, who will be missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ted's life on Wednesday, February 26 at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 W County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Visitation begins at 10 am, with a memorial service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
