Theresa Marie Faillace (nee Lemma)

Huntingdon Valley, PA — Theresa Marie Faillace (nee Lemma), 86, died Sunday, February 11, 2018 peacefully at home.

She leaves her loving husband of 56 years, Salvatore; her devoted children, Mariann T. Winkelman (Kurt), Salvatore Jr. (Lisa), and Judith S. Faillace; doting grandmother of Taylor, Emilee, Eric, Angelina, Gabrielle, and Nicholas; two sisters Rose Boninfante and Reda Marella, (6) nieces and (4) nephews, and (6) grand-dogs.  She was pre-deceased by a sister Mae Lemma and brother Nicholas.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (nee Trolio) Lemma, she was a longtime resident of Folcroft before recently relocating to Huntingdon Valley.

She excelled in basketball at South Philadelphia High School (class of 1950).  After graduating she worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard before marrying Salvatore in 1961.  After raising her children, Theresa worked for the University of Pennsylvania where she assisted in matriculating newly admitted students in the College of General Studies.  After retiring from Penn, she pursued her love for animals by working for Nutro helping to educate pet owners on the benefit of proper animal nutrition and then volunteering to help find forever homes for rescue dogs.

She was an avid lover of games and enjoyed playing slot machines at the casinos, backgammon and card games with her husband and family.  She loved traveling, especially to Italy, Bermuda, Florida, and the Jersey Shore.  She will be sadly missed.
