Obituary of Virginia Williams

Virginia was born in Norfolk VA on July 29, 1911. She was the eldest of four children from the union of Samuel and Nellie Plummer. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and attended Virginia State University.

She moved to Philadelphia in 1938 with her extended family, married and raised all of her children there. She was a member of Varick A.M.E. Zion Church for over 60 years. Her work experiences include working in a hat shop, city of Philadelphia and Philadelphia School District school libraries.

Ironically, she died on her husbands birthday, June 6, 2008.

She leaves two daughters: Pamela W. Lynch and Sandra W. Fitts; three grandsons and their wives: Thomas Lynch (Robin), Scott Lynch (Malene), and Jason Fitts (Karen); and two great grand daughters: Tyler and Ryan Lynch.
