W. Vernell "Vern" Shaw, Jr., age 76, of Langhorne, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by loving wife and lifelong friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Beloved husband of Mary E. Shaw (Coburn) for 50 years. Vern was a graduate of Penn State University, class of 1970. He served in the United States Army Reserves for 29 years and attained the rank of Colonel. He retired from the accounting firm of Ernst & Young in 2008.

He and his wife enjoyed skiing and traveling. He visited all 50 states, Canada, the Caribbean, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, France and Monaco. He enjoyed collecting coins, 45 RPM records, and going to Penn State football games, including the Bowl games. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. Every year Vern and Mary would plan an annual Vern Shaw picnic with their lifelong friends.

Son of the late W. Vernell, Sr and Claire Leigh (Schlaich) Shaw. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary E. Shaw; In-laws, Gordon and Pat Coburn, and Jim and Linda Coburn; and Aunt Grace Kershaw; as well as several cousins, extended family and his loving pet, Fred.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Vern's funeral service at 11AM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel. Pastor Jason Guynes from Grace Point Church will be officiating.

Friends may call from 10 AM until service time to share fond memories.

Vern will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park following services.
