Obituary of William Kingsley

William A. (Bill) Kingsley, 73, of Roxborough, died November 30, 2007 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Clare (Dadosky) Kingsley, his three children, Elizabeth (Ray) Baeringer of Philadelphia, Karen Kingsley of Minneapolis and Dan (Shannon) Kingsley of Phoenix; three grandchildren Dakota, Patrick and Brianna; brothers Stuart (Priscilla) Kingsley and Gordon (Mary Ford) Kingsley and sisters Rosemary Randolph and Ruthanne Farnsworth; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law John and Margie Kingsley. Bill was the executive director of the Betsy Ross House for 25 years, executive director of the Reading Terminal Market Preservation Fund, president and interim executive director of the Roxborough Development Corporation, and most recently as a business development officer at St. Edmonds Bank. Bill was a community leader, having served on many nonprofit boards and civic organizations, including Interac, Old City Civic Association, and Interstate Land Management Corp. He also served as a volunteer guide at the Deshler Morris House. He loved literature, history and public affairs. He loved people. Constantly on the go from meeting to meeting, he was gregarious and well loved by many. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Simpson House and Visiting Nurses Association of Greater Philadelphia who provided kind and generous hospice care.
