William "Bill" A. Muir, age 84, of Philadelphia, husband of Sandra "Sandy" Muir with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, passed away on Saturday November 4, 2023.Born on February 11, 1939 in Philadelphia, Bill was the son of the late Harry and Agnes (MacKenzie) Muir.
Bill was a graduate of Jules E. Mastbaum Area Vocational School. High School class of 1957. He was a mechanical draftsman for Moore Products and enjoyed his time playing for the Christian 9 softball team.After retiring, he was dedicated to his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed being an amateur herpetologist, "swimming" at his local YMCA, talking with anyone who had a few minutes to spare and Fridays at Vince's Pizza. He attended the Davisville Church in Southampton, PA.
Bill is survived by his devoted children and grandchildren:
Kathy, wife of Rick Miekley of Sound Beach, NY and their children, Jeremy, his wife Kayla, and their son, Cooper, Caroline, and David.
Lynn, wife of Matt Stine of Carlisle, PA and their children, MacKenzie, Verity, and Brinn.
Colleen, wife of Phil Feather of Glenside, PA and their children, Erika, and Sam. Patti, wife of Bill Newhouse of Southampton, PA and their children, Trevor, and Griffin. Bill Muir and Cheryl Alessandroni of Bensalem,PA and their daughter, Meryl Alessandroni.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Muir and brother Roderick Muir.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bill's funeral service on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Rd., Huntingdon Valley, PA at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Wilson of Davisville Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held Friday morning from 9:30AM to 11 AM at the funeral home.
