IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Rolla
Wallace
July 24, 1949 – June 29, 2018
William Rolla Wallace
William Wallace lost his short battle with cancer on June 29 th at the age of 68. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Marie (nee Purich Hughes), his 5 children: Robert Hughes, William, Lisamarie Lewandowski, Tricia Savona (Matt), Susan Dougherty (Sean) and his "adopted" daughter Jennifer Beccaris (Kevin). He will be missed by his 8 grandchildren: Meghan, Brandon, Andrew, Shane, Kylie, Shannon, Christopher and Ryan to whom he was affectionately known as the "Lego King."
Bill was born in Philadelphia, moved to Warminster and graduated from William Tennet HS in 1968. He lived and worked in Horsham for the Township as well as working for the family business, Father & Son Exterminating. He then moved to Warminster where he started Buxmont Wildlife Control. He eventually moved to Lower Southampton, where he worked as a State Constable from 1992 until his passing.
Bill was well known for treating everyone, even prisoners, with respect. He even captured a bank robber by charming him into his green Tahoe. He served many years as a committee man and other Republican Party positions. Bill was a life-long fire volunteer, serving in Horsham, Lower Southampton & Feasterville fire companies. In his youth, Bill spent summers in Cape May, NJ at his grandmother's house, where he fell in love with the ocean. He worked as a lifeguard and a first mate on fishing boats. As an adult, he vacationed in many NJ towns and taught his children, grandchildren and a few others how to fish and crab from his boat.
Bill will be remembered by many people for his humor and elaborate story telling. While watching his grandchildren grown and receive their sacraments, Bill became more spiritual and was baptized and confirmed Catholic this year.
We will be receiving friends and family on Tuesday, July 10, from 9:30 to 11:30 at Assumption BVM Church (Feasterville) with a celebratory mass at 11:30 followed by interment at Forrest Hills Cemetery (Huntingdon Valley).
