Yuet Kam
Lee
September 18, 1925 – May 3, 2026
Yuet Kam Lee, age 100, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026 with her children by her side.
Born on September 18, 1925 in Taishan County, Guangdong Province, China, she is survived by her eldest daughter, Melina Au, and son-in-law, Leo Au; her second daughter, Angela Liu, and son-in-law, Scully Liu; her son, Warren Chiu, and daughter-in-law, Winnie Chiu; and her youngest daughter, Linda Li, and son-in-law, Lawrence Li. She has served as a steadfast pillar of the family, blessed with nine grandchildren (Cynthia Chiu, Bernard Liu, Jennifer Chan, Connie Au, Stephen Chiu, Christopher Au, Elaine Liu, Amanda Li, and Andrew Li) and nine great grandchildren (Simon, Cadence, Jaden, Amaya, Chandler, Liliana, Savannah, Tobin, and Cameron).
Yuet lived life with great gusto and resilient resolve. Often seen throwing deuces and victory signs, coupled with her signature affirmations and radiant smile, she exemplified enthusiasm, strength, and faith. Her keen mind matched her generous spirit. She encouraged her family to be the best they can be, while prioritizing peace and unity.
She devoted her life to supporting her family. In 1961, when her husband Sui Lung Chiu passed away suddenly following a brief illness, Yuet not only had to care for her four young children, but also had to shoulder the responsibility of managing the family business. She and her elder brother—respected Uncle Ming Wai Lee - worked in unison to ensure the continued growth of the business. To minimize expenses, she bravely faced challenges head-on and obtained a commercial driver's license for a 1.5-ton truck. She and her brother then took turns driving daily routes to deliver goods to various market stalls in Hong Kong. Her loyalty and diligence in business dealings earned the admiration of her peers and colleagues.
After more than a decade of arduous labor, she immigrated to Philadelphia in 1971 and later moved to Harrisburg to open and operate a restaurant. Her unwavering dedication, tireless work ethic, and insatiable thirst for achievement served as an exemplar for all. Upon retirement, she lovingly cared for her grandchildren for over twenty years. A generous and magnificent force of nature, she was deeply cherished, and her teachings have become guiding life mottos and profound sources of inspiration. Her legacy and loving memory lives on in the hearts of all she has touched.
Visitation will be held at Kirk & Nice on May 7, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a memorial service.
Our beloved Mom/Grandma/Taipo will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
